Current Events

Plant Follow on Application

    • You can initiate a follow on for your Plant application using the “Existing submissions” menu or activity card. Please continue to use the fee transmittal PTO/SB/17 for any fees that you would like to calculate and pay.

    • NOTE: DO NOT USE the Plant Non-Provisional option in the “New submissions” menu or activity card. Please continue follow the COVID-19 Plant application filing procedure for filing Plant applications.

Patent Center Database Migration

The USPTO will perform an administrative migration of Patent Center Database from midnight-5:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, May 22. 

Patent Center will be unavailable during the maintenance period. 

Please refer to the Filing Documents during an Outage page for other alternative filing methods.

Systems Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting several systems from midnight-9 a.m. ET on Saturday, May 25.  

The following systems and systems that interface with these systems will be unavailable during the maintenance period: 

    • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)

    • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Roster of Patent Attorneys/Agents (OEDCI)

    • Patent Center and Sponsorship tool

    • Patent Trial and Appeal Tracking System (P-TACTS)

    • Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS)

    • Financial Manager and Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront

    • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)

    • Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG)

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE (TTABVUE)

The maintenance will also cause interruptions to payment processing for users of the Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA), the Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS), the Order Entry Management System (OEMS), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End to End (PTAB-E2E).

If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending AIA case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Tracking System (P-TACTS), you may use an alternative filing method.
